Bakelite Dublin

5 3/4" long, 2" tall, .750" bore and 1.65" stroke. 32g. Handcut vintage Bakelite stem.
 
There is the famous quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupery: "A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away."
 
That would be your Dublin. The Dublin is not my design, of course; it is too simple to be called a design, it's a shape that a pipe inevitably had to be. Which may be why it's one of my favorites, and when I started thinking about pipes that would be good homes for my small stock of vintage amber Bakelite, it was right there. Speaking of Bakelite, this is a very nice piece, lots of swirls.
